About Us

Our founder, Bob Ewing, was a graduate of the University of Arizona. He started the company as a sole proprietorship in 1960 operating from a small office at the southeast corner of Camelback Road and 16th Street in Phoenix. He moved the business to its current location at 4135 N. 12th in Phoenix in 1965 and incorporated it under our current name in 1975. Bob was a professional Civil Engineer with specialized experience in industrial and commercial buildings. He was a Life Member of The Thunderbirds and was Big Chief in the early 70’s.

Through the 70’s and 80’s, the company constructed many industrial and commercial projects such as the housing and operational buildings at the Cyprus Bagdad Mine, Shadow Mountain High School, and numerous other ground-up projects. Beginning in the early 90’s and continuing today, we have specialized in supporting facility managers and maintenance personnel in the daily operations of their facilities. Because we self-perform all aspects of concrete, steel, metal stud/drywall, small carpentry work, and structural engineering/design we have been able to control costs and efficiently support the needs of our customers in an efficient and timely manner.

In 1995, Bob established an Employee Stock Ownership Program (ESOP) to support continued operations, instill efficiency among our personnel, and maintain a commitment to meeting the needs of our customers. Employee owners with a vested interest in the company enhance our ability to retain personnel and demonstrates stability which is crucial to maintaining our long-term relationships. As a result, many of our key personnel have been with us for over 30 years and our average employee has been with the company for 15 years.
